Everything Changes When You Begin to Trust God’s Plan
There comes a point in life when you realize that trying to control everything is exhausting.
You can plan.
You can prepare.
You can worry.
You can replay every decision you have ever made and wonder if you should have chosen differently.
But none of that changes what God has already placed before you.
Everything begins to change when you learn to trust God’s plan.
Not because suddenly everything becomes easy.
But because you stop carrying what was never yours to carry.
I have learned that sometimes God will allow a door to close that you desperately wanted to walk through.
At the time, it can feel like rejection.
It can feel like failure.
It can even feel like God has forgotten about you.
But sometimes what feels like rejection is actually protection.
Sometimes the delay is preparation.
Sometimes the ending you never wanted is the beginning you could never see coming.
And sometimes God has to remove something from your hands because you are holding onto it so tightly that you cannot receive what He is trying to place there.
Trusting God does not mean I understand everything.
It means I don’t have to.
That is where faith becomes real.
It is easy to say we trust God when everything is working in our favor.
The real test comes when the road becomes uncertain.
When the answer is not immediate.
When the prayer seems unanswered.
When you are standing in the middle of something you never expected your life to become.
That is when faith says:
I may not understand this, but I still trust You.
I have walked through seasons where I could not see the purpose.
I only saw the pain.
I only saw what I had lost.
I only saw the doors that had closed.
But looking back, I can see that some of the things I thought were destroying me were actually stripping away the person I had become just to survive.
God was teaching me that survival was not the end of my story.
There was still becoming.
There was still healing.
There was still purpose.
There was still life.
And sometimes God does His deepest work in us when we feel like nothing is happening at all.
We want answers.
God gives us patience.
We want certainty.
God teaches us faith.
We want the destination.
God teaches us how to walk.
That is the part we often miss.
We become so focused on where we are going that we forget God is working in who we are becoming along the way.
Trust changes the way you see everything.
You stop asking,
“Why is this happening to me?”
and begin asking,
“What is God teaching me through this?”
You stop forcing doors open.
You stop chasing people who have chosen to walk away.
You stop begging for what God may be trying to free you from.
You stop believing that every loss means you have lost your purpose.
And you begin to understand that sometimes peace comes when you finally surrender the need to know what happens next.
I don’t believe God wastes our pain.
I believe He can take the places that broke us and use them to build something stronger within us.
The scars can become wisdom.
The rejection can become discernment.
The loneliness can teach you how to sit with yourself.
The darkness can teach you how to recognize the light.
And the seasons when you felt forgotten can become the very seasons that teach you how deeply God was with you all along.
Trusting God’s plan does not mean sitting still and doing nothing.
It means doing your part while surrendering the outcome.
Pray.
Move.
Work.
Grow.
Set boundaries.
Make better choices.
Keep your heart open.
But don’t try to become God in your own life.
You were never meant to know every chapter before you lived it.
Sometimes all you are given is the next step.
Take it.
Then take the next one.
And trust that God can see the road even when you cannot.
Because everything changes when you stop demanding that life happen according to your timeline.
You begin to breathe differently.
You begin to love differently.
You begin to release differently.
You begin to understand that what is meant for you does not have to be forced into existence.
And most importantly, you begin to realize that your story is still being written.
So if you are in a season right now where nothing makes sense, don’t assume that God has abandoned you.
Maybe He is preparing you.
Maybe He is redirecting you.
Maybe He is protecting you from something you cannot see.
Maybe He is asking you to let go of what you keep trying to control.
Or maybe He is simply teaching you to trust Him without needing all the answers first.
Whatever the reason, keep walking.
Keep praying.
Keep becoming.
You do not have to understand the entire plan to trust the One who does.
Sometimes faith is simply saying:
“God, I don’t know where this is going, but I trust You enough to keep moving.”
And sometimes that surrender is where everything finally begins to change.
Not because the world around you suddenly changed.
But because you did.
And when your heart changes, the way you experience the journey changes with it.
That is where peace begins.
That is where faith becomes real.
And that is where you finally learn that God’s plan was never about giving you a life without storms.
It was about teaching you that you were never walking through them alone.

“Whatever the reason, keep walking.
Keep praying.
Keep becoming.
You do not have to understand the entire plan to trust the One who does.” 🙏🏼✨
Aaron this was so moving. Thank you for sharing your testimony and heart with us again and again. Your writing is a gift to us all. 🤍
A closed door can keep me arguing for months, as if God misplaced the key and needs me to explain the plan. Then I wear myself out carrying tomorrow before it arrives. I’m learning to take the next step without making Him show me the whole road first.
